Family: Rosaceae Scientific name: Rubus moluccanus Description: Plant Form Prickly scrambling shrub. Size Up to 2 m long. Stem Hairy, with prickles. Leaves Compound of 5-7 leaflets which can be up to 8 cm long each and are oblong or lance-shaped, with deeply toothed edges. Flowers Typical Blackberry like white, with 5 petals. Solitary or in small clusters. Fruit and Seeds Raspberry-like, oval-shaped and bright red berries up to 2 cm long. Habitat This plant is native to rainforest margins and tall forests across eastern Australia but can be a significant weed elsewhere.
