The WeedScan algorithm has been trained to recognise over 930 weeds and lookalike plants from across Australia.

The % confidence scores below indicate how confident the model is in its identification suggestion. These should be interpreted as follows:

• Below 30% identification is unreliable – and you will not be able to create a publicly viewable record. The species may not be in WeedScan, the image may not show enough detail, or there may be other plants in the photo.
• 30–50% is low confidence, you should review the profile of the suggested species to confirm that the identification is correct before creating a record.
• 50–80% is moderate confidence, although reviewing the species profile will help to confirm this is the case.
• Above 80% is high confidence, however it is still good practice to review the suggestion. If doubt remains regarding an identification, particularly where a native plant species may be involved, consult a plant identification expert.
