Family: Passifloraceae Scientific name: Passiflora subpeltata Description: Plant Form Climbing or creeping vine. Size Up to 5 m long. Stem Slender, mostly hairless, with tendrils produced at the leaf forks. Leaves Alternately arranged, hairless, pale green with 3 rounded lobes. Also there are heart-shaped leafy structures at the join of the leaf stalk and stem. Flowers White typical passionfruit type flowers, up to 5 cm across. With prominent stamens in the middle giving crown-like appearance. Fruit and Seeds Pale bluish ripening to green, with a leathery appearance. Up to 4 cm long. Toxic to humans and livestock. Habitat Urban bushland, roadsides, disturbed areas, riparian areas, forests. Distinguishing Features The leaves have rounded lobed leaves, unlike lookalikes Stinking Passionvine (Passiflora foetida) and Corky Passionvine (Passiflora suberosa) which have pointy lobes.
