Family: Lamiaceae Scientific name: Lavandula stoechas Description: Plant Form Woody perennial upright small shrub Size 60-100 cm high Stem Dense woody branches Leaves greyish or greyish-green, dense woolly hairs, crowded, paired or clustered at nodes without a leaf stalk. Usually very narrow but can be more ovate, 1–3 cm long and 1–5 mm wide, with smooth edges which curve downwards Flowers Numerous small flowers are arranged in dense 2-5 cm long, cylindrical heads which arise from long stems. Each flower along the cylindrical inflorescence is deep purple (rarely white or pink), 5–10 mm long, tubular, 2-lipped, and fragrant. Five 1-2 cm long violet to white petal-like structures grow from the top of each inflorescence.
