Family: Asteraceae Scientific name: Cotula australis Description: Plant Form Low growing herb. Size Up to 10 cm high. Stem Spreading, branching, weakly rooting at nodes. Leaves Oval to oblong lance-shaped up to 2 cm across, deeply divided into 3-7 lobed segments. Flowers Pale to cream button-like daisy heads 4-5 mm across, with many small bract-like individual flowers. Fruit and Seeds Tiny 1-seeded, dry, up to 1.5 mm across. Slightly flattened and oblong. Habitat This is a native species which inhabits moist open grasslands, lawns, pastures, roadsides, open woodlands. It can be a nuisance weed in some circumstances.
