Family: Euphorbiaceae Scientific name: Croton hirtus Description: Plant Form Annual herb. Size Up to 1 m tall. Stem Upright. Whole plant is covered with stiff hairs which can cause skin irritation. Leaves Egg-shaped, in clusters of 3 in circular groups. Up to 8 cm long. Flowers Separate green female and white male flowers. Gland tipped and with finger like projections. Fruit and Seeds Green 3-lobed capsules about 4 mm across. Containing 3 ribbed greyish-brown seeds with fleshy outgrowths. Habitat Roadsides, gardens, pastures, agricultural land.
