Leaves can grow directly from stems, but when petioles present, they are up to 2 cm long Flowers White, growing in spiky clusters directly from the bases of leaves Fruit and Seeds Similar to flowers, interspersed with pale hairs Habitat Naturalised in south - southeastern Queensland, primarily in disturbed areas or by roadsides in rainforest areas Distinguishing Features Can be distinguished from Alternanthera philoxeroides by having flowers that grow at the bases of leaves or leaf petioles, whereas A. philoxeroides usually has flowers growing from peduncles (stems) arising from main stem.
